How much does a Norseboat weigh? I complain about my Alden 16 being heavy compared to the Maas I used to row.

    Joe,

The Norseboat website says 240 kg = 529 lbs empty. I assume this includes centerboard, rudder, sails, rig. Loaded with kids, fishing gear, snacks and juiceboxes you can go up to 735 kg. You have to be a real man to row one. This real man can only go about 2.5 kts sustained. It is also a bitch to row into the wind. Still, I like rowing, and have resisted the temptation of getting a motor.

She can sail at 5+ kts though! It fun to pass keelboats out there…

    Cheers

That poor guy had his boat stolen. I remember seeing his “Reward” ads around town. I do believe he got his boat back though, because his signs were not up for long.
