Maybe execute from laminated WRC, redwood, or build up with a basswood core?

I imagine this would be a foot long or more?
It looks fairly like a pyramid, enclosing a big volume.
It doesn’t look bad aesthetically, but I would make it thinner at the bottom, and/or hollow –unless you want to hang a few extra pounds of wood on the stem.

Nice to see your progress on the Ulua. You’re doing some really good looking work. And such a piece would look really nice on it too.
    Cheers,

How is your Ulua build going? Any recomendations to a guy thinking about starting 1, possibly 2 hulls?

Is there much benefit in stretching it if I only add 2 feet? I still want to car top it, but would like a little more room for coolers, maybe a small extra passenger.

    Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply! I will have figure out trim considering my 230#s will be in the back, but the extra length may help, as I can counter lighter crew up front with a cooler.

I sold my 28′ San Juan last year, just before I got married. I’m itching to sail again and my wife has given a green light on building a new boat.

I enjoy your site, been stopping by every now and then for a few years!

    Fair Winds,
    Jon
