Strictly Sail 2011

This past Saturday Char and I took ourselves up to Jack London Square to check out the Strictly Sail boat show.  I needed new foulies and some personal gear, and it had been a couple of years since I had gone.

Char was quite taken by the pink Potter, and some other pink and lavender boats on display from BAADS.

The Open 5.70 looked sweet, and more substantial than the Viper next door.

Char on an electric powered motorcycle.

SSS members Greg Nelson and Bruce Schwab were at the show selling advanced lightweight batteries and charging systems.

It was nice to see the Island Yacht Club reaching out to Kū worshipers as part of their membership drive.

This 40-something Beneteau has Annika’s name all over it.

And if that one doesn’t work out, here’s another.  Check out the hailing port.

Paul Elliott was there helping to promote the Pac Cup on War Pony and Tiki Blue.

The Mini Pogo 2 looked great, and very roomy inside compared to the Zero.

Now that’s a prod.

Looks like you guys had a great time by the pics! Speaking of fun times, my friend just joined yachtdates and had a blast sailing with the people she met over the holiday weekend! Now I’m thinking of joining too – she told me it’s super easy and fast to sign up and it’s free to try out so I figure why not? If you’re interested, they have a great FaceBook page with all the info

Wow what a gorgeous boat! I absolutely love yachting and being out on the open water. I would love to meet more people who enjoy it as much as I do. Maybe it is time to give that yacht dates a try…
